Holiday in South Africa, Travel

Aloe Eden
Aloe Eden

The next morning we got up early, had a lovely filling breakfast (included in the price) and packed our bags. Not knowing where we would be sleeping that night, we drove from Wilderness all the way to Mosselbay, passing Great and Little Brak River as well as Hartenbos on the way. Once we got there, we looked everywhere for somewhere to stay. Most of the places were full (in the winter!) and the rest were very expensive.

Just before it started getting dark, we discovered a little place in a book advertising accommodation we picked up at one of the stops we made. Aloe Eden… It sounded like heaven and we investigated further. I phoned up and the Tannie said they had space available for us at a great price and off we went.

In Rheebok, nestled between Little Brak River and Hartenbos, we finally came home. It is a lovely self-catering flat on the ground floor, looking out over the sea. Sitting in the lounge you could see the sea, close enough to touch… We were ecstatic about this great discovery and paid for the rest of the week.

Rheebok is not a place you would see from the highway. It is off the main road and hidden away like a gem. Very quiet, relaxing but beautiful. It is protected from the strong winds and the sunshine is beautiful.

At least we could relax now and look forward to the rest of our stay…
