Food, Heerlike kos, Something to Share

Vitamin B is a complex consisting of different B vitamins.  They all work together and therefor it is very important that you take vitamin B as a complex, together at the same time.  Vitamin B1 is called thiamine and it is a water-soluble, like all the other vitamin B’s.  Estimated intake per day is 1 mg and must be replenished daily.  Any excess is excreted in the urine, but taking in large amount (more than 3 mg per day) over a long period of time, could cause fatigue, irritability, forgetfulness and constipation.  Vitamin B1 is crucial in proper growth, promotes functioning of the heart, muscles and nervous systems, fights signs of depression and is used in the conversion of carbohydrates into energy.

If you do not take in enough vitamin B1 per day, it may result in you experiencing sensitivity, poor co-ordination, sore muscles, nervousness, tingling in the fingers as well as toes, weakness in general and weight loss.  You will feel tired and generally sore all over.  Not taking enough of the vitamin B complex as a whole, can result in restlessness, insomnia (inability to sleep) and you will cry easily.  Imagine how hard it will be for you if you are already feeling very emotional.

You hear so much about children suffering from ADD (attention deficiency disorder) which partly might be the inability to concentrate because of a lack in vitamin B.    One of the biggest reasons for the lack in this specific vitamin, is the intake of ready meals, which lacks the necessary nutrients.  Take-away, fast food, chips and other fatty foods as well as chocolates, provide too much bad fats and might lead to obesity and a lack of nutrients.  Children need freshly prepared food to grow strong and healthy, lots of fruits and vegetables and a basic knowledge of food groups so they can learn about healthy eating from a young age.

Good sources of vitamin B1 can be found in foods such as wheat germ, whole wheat, bran, whole brown rice, oatmeal, sunflower seeds, peanuts, seafood, egg-yolk, meats, soybeans and yoghurt.  Make sure you have a balanced diet, taking enough of all the vitamins and minerals, and not just food containing a few.

Make sure you take all the B vitamins together.  Rather eat the right foods than use vitamin supplements.  There is nothing better than taking the necessary vitamins from food provided to us by nature.  Do regular exercise, eat healthy and you will feel more healthy and alive for some time to come!
