Landing in South Africa – Part 2

After flying through the nights on Virgin, which was not too bad and only a few hours sleep under our belts, we had to wake up bright and early.  We were served breakfast VERY early, about 6 in the morning.  I did not do too well with the eggs they served that time of the morning.  To be honest, I do not like eggs at all, unless it is boiled or scrambled, but not fried.

Walking of the plain was great.  The terminal at the airport has been improved very much and it looks great.  We did not have to get on a bus to get to the building, we simply walked of the plain and directly got into the terminal building.  The walk to customs is now longer, but at least we do not have to get a bus any more:)

We got through customs with no trouble at all and it didn’t take TOO long…  and then we headed for our luggage.  After we picked up our luggage (heavy remember, we had to pack for 3 months), we headed towards the arrivals.

As usual, I could not see my mother or friend.  It is usually Martin’s job to look around, because I can just not see them, everytime we land.  Maybe it is just because there are sooooooo many people around…

Once we saw them, we greeted like we haven’t seen each other for a long time (although we were only there in December) and we started walking towards the car.

We landed in the winter, the coldest month of the year, but it was great.  The sun came out and the further we drove, the warmer it became.  It was around 20 degress celcius by the time we got home and it was great sitting in the sun.

The plan, as always, was to rest when we arrive, but like always, we didn’t.  Staying up, chatting, unpacking and before we realised, it is LATE in the evening again.  But worth it.  It was great being on South African soil under the African sun once again…
